1 killed, another seriously injured after crash in south valley
Metro is investigating a crash that killed a man and seriously injured a woman in the south Las Vegas Valley.
First responders were called about 4:20 p.m. to the intersection of Bermuda and East Warm Springs roads, according to Clark County Fire Department logs.
A person in one of the two vehicles went into cardiac arrest, CCFD Assistant Fire Chief Sandra Baker said. It wasn’t immediately clear if it happened before, during or after the crash, she said.
Metro’s Accident Investigation Section later said the man who died was driving a 2004 Honda Element north on Bermuda across Warm Springs when it was T-boned on the driver’s side by an eastbound 1999 Dodge Durango.
The 66-year-old man in the Honda died at St. Rose Hospital, police said. His identity and cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified.
The 26-year-old woman driving the Dodge was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that police described as serious.
This is the 42nd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
