A 16-year-old girl critically injured after falling from a moving vehicle in the parking lot of Durango High School in August has died, according to Las Vegas police.
She was identified Tuesday as Donya Badiepour by the Clark County coroner's office.
Badiepour was thrown from a 2004 Toyota Sienna on Aug. 6 when the 15-year-old male driver swerved, police said Tuesday in a news release announcing her Aug. 8 death.
Police think Badiepour may have been holding onto the luggage rack.
She was taken to University Medical Center after the crash and survived for two days.
On Tuesday, the coroner's office notified police that her cause of death was blunt force head trauma caused by a fall.
Badiepour's death was ruled an accident and is the 77th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction in 2015.
