2 wounded in shooting near downtown Las Vegas
Two people were hospitalized following a Friday morning shooting near a downtown apartment complex, Las Vegas police said.
Police said just before 10 a.m. they received a call from the manager of an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Lewis Avenue, near the intersection of Charleston Avenue and Bruce Street, after a maintenance worker reported hearing gunshots nearby.
Someone Las Vegas police described only as female was caught in the line of gunfire and grazed by a bullet. She was taken to University Medical Center.
Police said a second person was shot and showed up to the scene shortly after police arrived. That person was taken to UMC. That person’s condition wasn’t available, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The shooter fled in a dark colored vehicle, police said. Metro was not able to provide a description of the shooter.
