63-year-old inmate dies at Northern Nevada Correctional Center

A 63-year-old inmate died at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center on Wednesday.

Benny Manning died from a chronic medical condition, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Manning was serving five years to life for sexual assault and was committed from Washoe County in 1976. The Department of Corrections said Manning was granted multiple paroles, but each one was revoked.

The Carson City coroner’s office is conducting an autopsy.
