A 14-year-old girl was in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the northwest valley Friday night, Las Vegas police said.
The teen was hit while crossing the street near the intersection of Lone Mountain Road and El Capitan Way about 7:20 p.m.
She was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene for the investigation, which is being handled by Las Vegas police's fatal detail.
It was unclear whether the pedestrian or driver was at fault as the investigation is still under way, police said late Friday.
