Child hit by vehicle near Cheyenne Avenue and Michael Way

Metro detectives are investigating a collision that injured a 9-year-old child Tuesday night.

Police said the child was struck about 7 p.m. in the area of the Cheyenne Avenue and Michael Way intersection.

The child was sent to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. No other details were released.

Traffic was still restricted at the intersection as of 9 p.m. while Metro's Accident Investigation Section detectives were on the scene.
