Clark County coroner IDs baby whose death is being investigated

The infant who died Tuesday in a Las Vegas hospital and whose death was being investigated by police has been identified.

He is Raymond Rodriguez Gonzalez, 7 months, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Officers went to a home in the 1900 block of Dwarf Star Drive, near Lake Mead and North Lamb Boulevards, at 11:51 after getting a call that someone there was sick or hurt. By the time police got there, the baby had been taken to University Medical Center.

UMC informed police of the child’s death at 12:42 p.m., Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

Police often investigate when a young child dies, Meltzer said. It doesn’t mean Metro suspects foul play.
