Coroner identifies Las Vegas couple in apparent murder-suicide

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the couple killed in Monday’s apparent murder-suicide.

Starsha Renee Williams, 29 of Las Vegas, died Monday from multiple gunshot wounds, the Clark County coroner’s office said. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

The coroner’s office said Williams’ boyfriend, 29-year-old Las Vegas resident Michael Betterson, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Metro Lt. Dan McGrath said Monday that the shooting followed a confrontation between Williams and her boyfriend, who police said shot her before killing himself.

The shootings occurred about 5:30 p.m. Monday at a house in the 4000 block of North Browndeer Circle, north of Tenaya Way and Alexander Road, police said.

Williams worked as a nurse’s aide for the Clark County School District, spokeswoman Michelle Booth said.
