Coroner identifies man found shot dead in east valley home

The man shot dead Wednesday in his east valley home was identified Friday by the Clark County coroner's office.

Eugene Elliott Henry Jr., 72, of Las Vegas, was found by a maintenance worker who arrived at Henry's home, Las Vegas police said.

He died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, the coroner said, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Officers were called to the house in the 5200 block of Crater Circle, near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue, close to the Eastside Cannery and Sam's Town, about 10:40 a.m. after the worker called 9-1-1.

Henry's house had been ransacked, police said. The department was also searching for Henry's car, a 2013 silver Cadillac ATS model, has either Nevada plate USZ990 or Arizona plate AR4204.
