Coroner identifies victim of Friday evening shooting
The 35-year-old man who was shot and killed in a southeast valley apartment complex Friday evening was identified Sunday by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Che Obi Eaddy, 35, of Las Vegas, was found lying in the walkway of his apartment complex just before 5 p.m. Friday in the 5700 block of Missouri Avenue, near Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue.
A man had knocked on Eaddy’s door and the two were arguing in a walkway near Eaddy’s apartment when the argument escalated and Eaddy was shot, according to Metro homicide Lt. Ray Steiber.
Eaddy died of a gunshot wound to the torso, the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
The shooter was a man in his late 20s to early 30s with black, shoulder-length dreadlocks, Steiber said. A second man who may have been with the shooter was described as having short-cropped hair and wearing gray or dark-colored clothes.
They were seen leaving the complex in a white, older model two- or four-door sedan, Steiber said.
Police don’t believe the shooting was gang-related, Steiber said Tuesday.
