Coroner IDs pedestrian struck, killed by car
A man who died after being hit by a car while crossing Jones Boulevard on Wednesday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
He is James Buecker, 63, of Las Vegas, the coroner said.
Buecker was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, Las Vegas police said. The 22-year old driver swerved to try to avoid the collision.
First responders were called about 5 p.m. to Jones just north of West Carmen Boulevard, near the Vegas Drive intersection, police said.
Buecker died at University Medical Center, police said. He was Metro’s 30th traffic-related fatality investigation this year.
