Coroner names armed woman shot and killed by Metro

A woman shot and killed by Metro officers Thursday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

She is Linda Lee Lush, 50, address unknown, coroner's office staff said Friday.

Metro did not release further details on Friday, but court documents show that a Linda Lush, also known as Linda Lee Delahoussaye, faced several felonies, including attempted murder and kidnapping, in a 2002 Las Vegas burglary.

A Metro criminal complaint from 2005 shows that Lush and William Harlow Richards Jr. were charged with multiple felonies in the burglary to a "building" in which three men were robbed and one of them, who was over 65 years old, was hit with a bat. Lush and Richards were convicted in 2005. It wasn't immediately clear how long they served.

After the burglary and robbery, the pair stole a 2001 Hyundai with California license plates.

On Thursday morning, Lush was once again in a stolen car from California, Metro said.

An undercover detective saw Lush driving erratically on Desert Inn Road, near Interstate 15, and learned the car she was driving was stolen from California, Metro said.

Officers tried pulling the car over near Desert Inn and Rainbow Boulevard, but Lush drove away. Police did not continue the chase, but a Metro helicopter tracked the car to an area on Desert Inn near Jones Boulevard.

Two SWAT vehicles trapped the car, Metro said.

Lush brandished a gun, Metro said, and she refused to exit the locked car. She shot at police before they returned fire, killing her.

A Metro spokesman said that a mug shot requested by the Review-Journal won't be available until a police briefing next week. Lush's attorney in the 2005 case could not be reached for comment.
