Coroner rules death of man found in parking lot in a homicide

The death of a man whose beaten body was found in a vacant parking lot in March has been ruled a homicide, according to the Clark County coroner's office.

Carlos Humberto Vasquez, 45, died from blunt force injuries to his head and torso, coroner's staff said Tuesday morning.

Las Vegas police found his body the evening of March 25, north of a 7-Eleven in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard.

An update on the investigation was not immediately available, Metro officer Michael Rodriguez said Tuesday.
