Coroner’s office IDs contruction flagger killed Friday

The Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday identified the construction flagger killed after being hit by a car early Friday morning in Henderson.

Marilyn Rouse, 49, was directing traffic about 2 a.m. on Warm Springs Road and Cebolla Street, near Arroyo Grande Boulevard, when she was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, Henderson police said.

Rouse, who was wearing a reflective uniform at the time of the accident, later died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The Malibu’s driver, Selina Gonzalez-Gascon, 21, continued driving but was stopped by other construction crew members, police said.

As of Friday night, she was facing charges of DUI with substantial bodily harm in a work zone and leaving the scene of a crash involving a serious injury.
