Three men, including a Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas card dealer and a floor supervisor, face felony theft charges after a mini-baccarat player was overpaid $60,000 in chips he didn’t win, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Player Georgios Papadopoulos, 40, dealer Adam Halderman, 38, and floor supervisor Gregory Moix, 49, each face 12 counts of theft and conspiracy to a commit a crime, Gaming Control Board spokesman Karl Bennison said. They were arrested Tuesday by Gaming Control Board Enforcement agents.
The thefts were discovered by the casino while conducting an internal review, Bennison said Friday.
On 12 separate occasions, from Jan. 6 to Jan. 13, Halderman and Moix, who were on duty together, overpaid Papadopoulos $5,000 each time he played, Bennison said.
The three men were arrested at the casino at the same time, Bennison said. They were booked at the Clark County Detention Center.
Halderman, Moix and Papadopoulos did not show up in the jail’s or court systems’ online databases Friday.
It was not immediately clear how long Halderman or Moix have worked at the casino.
A spokeswoman for the Cosmopolitan declined comment Friday, saying the company does not discuss pending internal investigations.
