DA drops illegal fireworks case against Flavor Flav

Flavor Flav is off the hook — at least in his fireworks case.
The 56-year-old rapper, whose real name is William Drayton Jr., has made lots of noise with his Fourth of July parties since 2009 at his home in the south Las Vegas Valley . He’s set off thousands of dollars worth of illegal fireworks, much to the dismay of neighbors.
Last July 4, those neighbors, in the 7800 block of Via Ventura Court, finally had enough and called Las Vegas police, who issued Drayton a citation for illegal fireworks and confiscated over 100 pounds of unused material.
But in April, the Clark County District Attorney dropped the case, court records show.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office cited a lack of evidence for not moving forward with the case.
The rapper has had his fair share of trouble with Las Vegas-area law enforcement in recent years.
In April 2014, Drayton pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence charges.
Last month, Nevada Highway Patrol arrested Drayton on several charges including speeding, DUI, possession of marijuana, having an open container of alcohol, driving with a a suspended license and driving with a suspended registration.
