Dining pick of the week: Thai Thai

10890 s. Eastern ave. at Sunridge Heights Parkway, 837-6575

You're not seeing double. It's just that this restaurant believes its Thai food is twice as good as any other Thai restaurant. One thing is true: The menu has a long list of authentic hot and spicy Thai dishes. Among the curry selections (add chicken, tofu, vegetables, beef, pork, shrimp or scallops) are pumpkin, red, green, yellow, panang with kaffir lime leaves, and duck in red curry paste with coconut milk, pineapple, raisins, bell peppers, tomatoes and basil leaves. Chef specialties include crispy whole fish with chili paste, soft-shell crab salad, salmon green curry and jumbo garlic shrimp. Other entrees include Thai omelet, beef broccoli, Thai barbecue chicken, seafood delight, Mongolian beef, cashew chicken and pra-ram, where steamed spinach is topped with homemade peanut sauce. There are soups (chicken rice, tom yum gai, beef noodle, war wonton), salads (papaya, larb, squid, spicy seafood, glass noodle) and noodle dishes such as pad Thai, chow mein, fried noodles with chicken and egg, and Thai Thai noodles with squid, shrimp, rice noodles, bean spouts, black mushrooms and onions in brown sauce. Curries begin at $9.95 and chef Specialties at $14.95. Thai Thai Restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
