Letter to the editor: Reader disagrees with traveling by trike

Reader disagrees with trikes as safe travel

With all due respect to you, the "Traveling by Trike" (Southwest View, Sept. 3) article is written to promote the business that obviously paid you or the publication. It is just another road hazard if not causing more angry drivers on our already dangerous roads.

May I suggest in your next article, please point out the danger of riding under normal traffic speed, the danger of kids riding on public roads, mention the daily injuries, if not deaths, of unlicensed motorcyclists on our roads. Please write about how they inconvenience, cause accidents, how they infuriate drivers when they drive 15 mph in middle lanes of 45 mph roads. By the way, most tourist destination cities in Europe have narrow alleys for roads fit for bicycles, Smart cars and Vespa scooters. No intelligent, well traveled person should compare U.S. roads to theirs.

I hope they don't get permits to do business at the Strip, which should have been off-limits to moving billboards anyway ... which should have been for foot traffic only on evenings and busy holidays.
