DIGITAL BOOK SHOWCASE PLANS

ART GALLERY TO HOST
EASTER EGG PAINTING EVENT

The City of the World art gallery, 1229 S. Casino Center Blvd., is set to host Acrylic and Aperitif, an art class with cocktails, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday .

Participants will make Ukrainian Easter eggs. The class costs $35 per person in advance and $45 per person at the door.

ROSE SOCIETY PLANS SPRING MEETINGS

The University of Nevada, Reno’s Cooperative Extension and the South Valley Rose Society are set to offer free educational meetings on a variety of gardening topics.

The group’s first spring meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road.

The meeting plans to feature a preview of the April 20 Rose Show and tips on presenting and purchasing roses at the show.

VEGAS GIVECAMP LOOKING
FOR CHARITY PARTNERS

The Vegas GiveCamp, put on by Work in Progress at 317 S. Sixth St., is looking for registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and professionals.

The event, scheduled for June 28-30, is billed as a weekend work marathon where information technology and marketing content professionals donate their services to enhance and build software solutions for local nonprofits, ranging from applications to databases to websites.

LAS VEGAS FILM FESTIVAL
SEEKS SUBMISSIONS

The sixth annual Las Vegas Film Festival is scheduled for July 18-21 at the Las Vegas Hotel, 3000 Paradise Road.

Filmmakers can submit their original film, short film or documentary to be shown during the festival. The deadline for submissions is April 15.
