LAS VEGAS RESCUE MISSION FUNDRAISER
TO FOSTER EMPATHY TOWARD THE HOMELESS
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission, 480 W. Bonanza Road, plans to host the Walk a Mile in My Shoes fundraiser at 3 p.m. Saturday starting in the parking lot at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, 1111 W. Bonanza Road.
The event is designed to make participants aware of the heat that homeless people endure by walking a mile in the afternoon.
The cost is $20 for adults, $12 for children ages 6 to 15 and free for children 5 or younger.

AUDITIONS PLANNED SATURDAY
FOR YOUTH THEATER'S STUDENT ENSEMBLE
The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre plans auditions for its student ensemble at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.
Auditions are open to children ages 10 to 17, and no prepared material is required. Those who are chosen for the ensemble are required to pay a $50 annual fee, attend weekly classes or act in all Rainbow Company productions.

YOUTHS INVITED TO AUDITION
FOR 'VEGAS KIDS TV'
Cool Blue Entertainment plans to host auditions for its new show, "Vegas Kids TV," from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Aug. 25 at 4305 Dean Martin Drive, Suite 185, for people ages 5 to 20.
Elements of the show include acting, singing, dancing and comedy. No experience is required for auditions.

Registration for various cultural classes through the city of Las Vegas is open on select days in September.
