Firefighters douse burning booth at Sands convention center

Clark County fire crews fought a fire at the Sands Expo and Convention Center on Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to the alarm at 8:15 p.m. with four engines, a truck, a rescue vehicle and two battalion chiefs. The Las Vegas fire department assisted on the call, which turned out to be a fire in one vendor booth.

The flames were extinguished quickly, according to CCFD. The building was evacuated, and firefighters helped to air out the remaining smoke.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause had not been determined Thursday night, and damage was still being assessed.
