Henderson couple dead in apparent murder-suicide

A man killed his wife and then himself Tuesday night after texting a friend that he could no longer handle the stress and pain, Henderson police said Wednesday.

Police who responded to the 10 block of Via Paradiso in Lake Las Vegas said the 62-year-old Henderson man appeared to have shot his 63-year-old wife before shooting himself.

The friend who got the text message called Henderson police just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived, no one answered when they tried to make contact, police said. First responders entered the home and found the couple dead.

The couple lived alone in the house. Henderson Police had not been called to the house for any domestic violence issues in the past, police said.

The names of the deceased will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after their families have been notified.
