Homeless man dies from injuries suffered in trash fire in North Las Vegas

A homeless man who was severely burned in a North Las Vegas fire last month has died.

Authorities said the man, identified by the county coroner as 62-year-old Wayne Green, died Saturday at University Medical Center from injuries he received in a Nov. 24 trash bin fire behind a business at Bassler Street and Haddock Avenue.

Officials are unsure how the fire started. When firefighters arrived about 11 p.m., both the man and the trash bin were on fire.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the North Las Vegas Fire Department at 633-1102.
