A 34-year-old inmate suffering from a chronic medical condition died Saturday, the Nevada Department of Corrections announced Monday.

Jason Risner died at Valley Hospital Medical Center. He had been hospitalized since Sept. 11.

Risner was serving a 12- to 30-month sentence for a conviction of grand larceny since Aug. 27.

An autopsy will be conducted, according to the state.
