Las Vegas police arrest man in multiple robbery cases

A man Las Vegas police said was linked to a series of robberies has been arrested.

Andres Gaona-Garcia, 24, is being charged with numerous counts of robbery in connection to at least five armed robberies from August to September at small businesses near the intersection of Pecos Road at Washington Avenue. Police did not disclose the names of the businesses that were robbed.

Police said Gaona-Garcia would pose as a customer and then point a black handgun at employees as he robbed the businesses.

A person who matched the description of the robber was seen Oct. 1 at about 1 p.m. leaving a cellphone store in the same area. Police determined that he had just robbed the store.
