M Resort robbery suspect arrested in New York

A 35-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon in New York in connection with a Sept. 25 robbery at the M Resort Spa Casino, Henderson police announced Wednesday evening.

Damir Vucic was arrested Saturday near the Canadian border in New York, the department wrote in a release Wednesday. With the assistance of the Buffalo, N.Y., FBI violent crimes task force and the FBI-led criminal apprehension team, Henderson police found Vucic staying with family members in Buffalo.

Police believe during the robbery that Vucic approached a cashier's cage at the M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, wearing a black ski mask and black gloves and "threatened an employee with a weapon." The robber fled through the back doors with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The money that was stolen from the casino was recovered in the investigation, the release said.

Vucic is being held at the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo awaiting extradition to Nevada. He is charged with one count of robbery with a deadly weapon, one count of burglary with use of a firearm and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
