Man charged after stabbing girlfriend during argument

A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend in a southeast apartment Tuesday night, Las Vegas police said.

An argument between the couple started after Rayford Walker entered his girlfriend’s home at the Lake Sahara Apartments, 2500 Karen Ave., near Sahara and Eastern avenues, Metro officer Michael Rodriguez said. Police responded about 10:15 p.m.

The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with superficial cuts to her arms and head. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Rodriguez said.

Walker was arrested at the apartments. He is in custody at Clark County Detention Center, charged with first-degree domestic battery, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and burglary.
