Man dead after hit-and-run on south end of Strip

A 34-year-old Las Vegas pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle near the south end of the Strip early Saturday morning.

The pedestrian, J. Jesus Andrade, was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard near the intersection with Four Seasons Drive in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a white sedan about 3 a.m, according to a Metro release.

Andrade was transported to University Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the white sedan fled the scene, the release said.

This was the eighth traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas this year.
