Man dies after jump from Flamingo overpass near I-15
A man died after he jumped from the Flamingo Road overpass near Interstate 15 and Dean Martin Road Saturday afternoon, according to Las Vegas police.
Officers were summoned shortly before 4 p.m. after a 911 caller said the man was suicidal and throwing rocks from the overpass into traffic, according to Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin.
By the time police arrived, Goodwin said, the man had leapt. It wasn't immediately clear where he landed, but traffic was affected only briefly.
The man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. He later died.
