Man fatally shot in father-son fight Friday identified

The man shot to death Friday afternoon has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

Devry Moore, 22-year-old resident of Las Vegas, was shot and killed Friday. According to police, after a fight broke out between Moore and his father, Moore took a hunting knife and stabbed his father four times. Police said that his father then shot Moore at least once.

The fight began near 4:00 p.m. in the 10000 block of Keifer Valley Street, near the intersection of Mountains Edge Parkway and Durango Drive, Metro said Friday. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical crews.

According to police, about five other family members were home when the altercation took place. Police initially reported Moore as being 19 years old, but the Clark County coroner's office confirmed Saturday that he was 22.

Moore's father, identified only as a 40-year-old man, was transported to University Medical Center, suffering from stab wounds in his upper back, ribs, and chest. He was in stable condition as of 8:00 p.m. Friday, police said.

The official cause and manner of Moore's death has not yet been released by the Clark County coroner's office.

As of Saturday, Moore's father does not face charges. It is unknown what initiated the fight.

No further details were immediately available.
