Man hospitalized after shooting in North Las Vegas

A man shot Saturday afternoon has been hospitalized, North Las Vegas police said.

Police received a call reporting gunfire about 1:10 p.m., and officers responded to the 4900 block of Crystal Breeze Lane, near West La Madre Way and North Decatur Boulevard, North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Officer Ann Cavaricci said.

Responding officers located a 30-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Cavaricci said. The man was transported to University Medical Center, and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Cavaricci said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the two involved in the shooting were known to each other, Cavaricci said. The shooting was “not a random act of violence,” she said.

No arrests have been made in connection with this case, and police did not release details regarding a possible suspect.

No more details were immediately available.
