Man hurt while crossing Boulder Highway has died
A man critically injured when he was struck by a car while crossing Boulder Highway on Tuesday night has died, according to Las Vegas police.
Deangelo Mantilla, 18, was jaywalking from west to east north of South Broadbent Boulevard, about 9 p.m. when he was hit by a 2014 Dodge Charger headed north on Boulder, Metro said in a release.
Mantilla died Thursday at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
The driver of the Charger, 64-year-old Sammy Bjork, and 68-year-old passenger Robert Selmon were not injured in the crash. They stayed on-scene and talked with police, Metro said.
This crash remains under investigation, police said.
An official cause of Mantilla’s death was not available from the Clark County Coroner’s office Thursday.
Mantilla’s is the 48th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2015.
