Man killed in Thursday triple shooting identified

The man who died after a triple shooting Thursday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Michael Thomas McCarthy, 54, of Las Vegas.

McCarthy and two women were shot Thursday in the 2600 block of Heritage Court, near Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road, police said.

Two unidentified men knocked on the door, asked for someone, when they did not locate that person, they shot the three people in the house, according to homicide detectives.

McCarthy died on the scene due to a single gunshot wound to the head, the coroner’s office said.

Two women were transported to local hospitals with critical injuries, police said. Another person who lived next door suffered a possible shrapnel injury and was treated on location.

Investigators said they believe the shooting might be drug related and are looking for two suspects.
