Man stabbed at downtown Las Vegas motel Tuesday morning

A man is in critical condition after he was stabbed at a motel near downtown Las Vegas Tuesday morning.

The man was visiting a female friend's unit at the Safari Motel, 2001 Fremont St., about 6 a.m. when another man came in and stabbed him multiple times, Metro Lt. David Gordon said.

"We are looking to see if it's domectic-related," police officer Larry Hadfield told reporters at the scene.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center and was expected to survive.

The stabbing suspect, who is in his 40s, is not in police custody, Gordon said.
