Metro makes arrest in May shooting death

Las Vegas police have made an arrest in connection with a May shooting that left a 31-year-old man dead, jail records show.

Police say Derick McDonald, 29, shot and killed Rahmond Suri on the morning of May 25 outside an apartment in the 500 block of North Lamb Boulevard, just south of Bonanza Road, according to an arrest report.

McDonald was arrested Sunday.

Police responded to the apartment after receiving the reports of someone being shot just after 7 a.m. Suri was pronounced dead there.

Several witnesses identified McDonald, who also went by “Jhonny” and “Too Tall,” as the shooter, according to the report. He was seen leaving the area in his white Dodge Durango immediately after the shooting.

McDonald was booked on one count of open murder at the Clark County Detention Center.
