Motorcyclist critically hurt in central Las Vegas crash

Updated October 18, 2017 - 1:54 am

Las Vegas police are investigating a critical-injury crash in the central valley Tuesday evening.

Metro responded about 5:45 p.m. to an apartment complex at 1655 E. Sahara Ave., near Maryland Parkway, on reports of the crash, Lt. Grant Rogers said.

A Hyundai Accent was turning left into the complex from the westbound lanes on Sahara when a motorcycle traveling east struck the passenger’s side and overturned, police said.

The 27-year-old man riding the motorcycle was thrown from the bike, police said, and was taken to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. Due to the extent of his injuries, Metro’s fatal crash detail is investigating.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 68-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and stayed at the scene and cooperated with police after the crash. Police said she did not show signs of impairment.
