Motorcyclist killed in crash at Fort Apache and Spring Mountain

A motorcyclist died Tuesday in a crash at the intersection of Fort Apache and Spring Mountain roads, according to Las Vegas police.

Officers and medical crews were called to the crash at about 5:50 p.m., Metro Lt. Tom Melton said. The motorcycle and a vehicle crashed.

Metro's traffic fatality department is investigating, Melton said. The intersection was expected to be shut down for several hours.

As of Nov. 15, there were 25 fatal motorcycle crashes compared to 36 last year, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
