Motorist critical after collision in southern Las Vegas Valley
A Henderson man suffered critical injuries in a southern valley wreck on Saturday morning, police said.
Yehia M. Marreez, 69, was in critical condition after the crash reported about 6:20 a.m. at Windmilll and Firethorn lanes, near Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas police said.
A 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 23-year-old Heidi Goodballet was traveling east on Windmill and Marreez was in a 2004 Pontiac Gran Prix going west, police said.
The Cruze struck the Gran Prix as Marreez was turning into the Eastwind Center Shopping Plaza, police said.
Marreez was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries and Goodballet, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Sienna campus.
The crash remained under investigation.
