North Las Vegas court doors reopened after ‘suspicious device’ scare

North Las Vegas police evacuated their south area command offices and the city’s municipal courts Tuesday after finding a device they considered suspicious.

An investigation started about 8 a.m. at 2322 Las Vegas Blvd. N., near Carey Avenue, city spokesman Aaron Patty said.

Police later determined the device was nothing to worry about and removed it from the property, Patty said. Officers would not specificy exaclty what it was, citing an ongoing investigation.

The public was allowed back in the building by 9:50 a.m.

Calls to the fire and police departments were not immediately returned.
