One dead, one injured after car strikes block walls

One man is dead and another injured after a single-car accident late Monday night near the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Desert Inn Road, according to Las Vegas police.

The driver, 45-year-old David Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene from head trauma. The passenger, Armando Esteva-Ortiz, 34, was transported to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix hit two block walls about 11:30 p.m. after spinning out of control near the intersection of Ridgedale Avenue and Ferndale Street.

The car continued east on Ridgedale Avenue and came to rest near the south curb, according to witnesses.
