The Clark County School Board on Thursday approved a new attendance policy that requires students under 18 years old to submit a certificate of attendance to the Department of Motor Vehicles or face having a license suspended or denied to them.
It took a 13-year-old student’s suicide and almost a year, but Clark County School District officials presented new anti-bullying policies Thursday to fall in line with state laws requiring that principals immediately investigate bullying reports and notify parents.
About $18 million in new school buses will soon be bought for Clark County School District students, replacing 50 vehicles beyond repair and adding 75 more to the 1,691-bus fleet next school year.
