Chemicals not a sure-fire way to kill ash tree

Question: I have a huge ash tree that I want to either stop from seeding or kill. I heard about a product that can stop seeding, but I am told due to the size of the tree, it is impossible to spray the blooms. This tree is at least 50 feet tall. It is a real nuisance.

Living through loved one’s suicide involves many layers of hurt

Hello Steven: I read your two articles on suicide. The first was not only wrong but extremely hurtful. I don’t think judging or generalizing about people being in rages will lower the rate (of suicide) or help the relatives. Inadequate medical care for the terminally ill, schizophrenics, bipolar, clinically depressed is a big cause (of suicide). Violence to spouses and children is another reason for it. Bullied gay children also. Victims are in nonsurvival states emotionally and mentally and escape hopelessness, not in rages.

Museum features Latin American culture from around the globe

Las Vegas residents and visitors don’t have to travel far to see the culture and history of South American and other Latin American countries. These elements can be viewed at the Hispanic Museum of Nevada, which celebrated its grand opening in January.

Field trips keep kids learning outside of class

They put on their hardhats and pack into a mineshaft elevator. Later, they examine rare minerals and pan for gold to take home with them. We are talking about fourth-graders, of course. Those are some of the activities they can experience at the McCaw School of Mines, one of the Clark County School District’s most popular field trip destinations.
