Pedestrian hit, killed Friday in east Las Vegas identified

The woman who died after being struck by a car Friday night has been identified.

Kortni Hagg, 24, was struck by a 2012 Ford Fiesta and died Saturday, the Clark County coroner’s office said.

Police said the Ford, driven by 35-year-old Jedediah Herring, was heading north on Pecos Road just north of Rawhide Street about 11:18 p.m. Friday when it struck Hagg who was crossing Pecos. Jeffery Wylie, the 58-year-old driver of the 1991 Toyota Camry driving behind Herring, avoided striking the pedestrian but hit the rear of Herring’s Ford, Metro said. Both drivers remained on the scene.

Hagg was not crossing the road in a marked crosswalk, police said. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she later died.

Metro said Hagg’s death was the 34th traffic-related fatality in their jurisdiction for 2016.
