Pedestrian killed in Friday night accident identified
A pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Las Vegas has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
Yamel Moreno, 35, tried to cross Tropicana Avenue near Decatur Boulevard just after 11:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Tropicana, according to Las Vegas police.
Witnesses said Moreno was outside the crosswalk when he was hit.
He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the fatality was the first traffic-related death this year in the department's jurisdiction..
