Police: Little known in Fashion Show mall shooting

None of the three men police say are linked to a shooting at Fashion Show mall have been identified or found, Las Vegas police said Wednesday, and the man who was shot still won’t give his name or information about the shooting to investigators.

There were seven people total involved in what began as an argument Tuesday, Sgt. John Sheahan said at a press conference.

The shot man, who left the scene on foot, had three men with him who left the mall in a black Dodge Magnum and were stopped barely a mile away by police.

Investigators determined that the three men in the Magnum had not committed a crime and let them go.

Meanwhile, the shot man showed up at MountainView Hospital and was transferred to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. As of Wednesday, Sheahan said, the man still wasn’t cooperating with detectives. He is not expected to be charged.

No casings had been found at the scene of the shooting, but the whole incident was recorded on security cameras, police said. Investigators were still reviewing the footage Wednesday.

Sheahan said that though the men in the mall shooting have a history with gangs, investigators believe the shooting was a spontaneous act of violence.

“This was an isolated, violent incident that was spontaneous and ended quickly,” Sheahan said.
