Power restored to 1,600 Henderson residents

More than 1,500 electric customers were without power briefly after a car crash Monday night in Henderson turned the lights out, according to NV Energy.

The power company's site showed 1,685 residents without electricity as of 8:30 p.m. in the area of U.S. Highway 95 and East Russell Road. Only 47 were still without power about 9:15 p.m.

The outage, caused by a motor vehicle accident, was first reported at 7:30 p.m. Energy was expected to be completely restored by 10 p.m.
