One woman died and nine other people were sent to the hospital after a van rolled over on the 215 Beltway on Sunday night, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on the beltway’s westbound on-ramp from northbound Interstate 15, near Las Vegas Boulevard, highway patrol spokeswoman Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said.
The woman was thrown through the windshield and died on the scene, Stuenkel said. The Ford van’s nine other passengers were taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not described as life threatening, Stuenkel said.
The woman’s identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office once her family has been notified.
The beltway was closed going west at the I-15 northbound ramp and at Las Vegas Boulevard, Stuenkel said. Closures were expected to last into the early morning.
