Survivors: Remembering the pain and celebrating freedom from domestic violence

Survivors of domestic violence, including a woman whose hands were severed in a machete attack, make a united stand Monday against the culture of silence and shame that can prevent victims from seeking life-saving help. The third annual Walk Against Domestic Violence Homicide, sponsored by Safe Faith United, drew about 50 people. It began at the Doolittle Community Center on J Street and ended on Stella Street, near Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards.
