Teenager killed in North Las Vegas shooting

Detectives with the North Las Vegas police department are investigating the deadly shooting of a teenager Saturday night.

Officers were sent to the 3700 block of Del Rio Drive, near the intersection of Pecos Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Joshua Manuel Novelo, 16, was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Medics pronounced Novelo, a North Las Vegas resident, dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police the shooter may have been in a vehicle at the time of the shooting. Detectives do not have anyone in custody and are not prepared to release a suspect description at this time, police said.
