A vacant house suffered about $100,000 in fire damage late Tuesday, according to the Las Vegas Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at the house at 2520 Las Verdes St., near Sahara Avenue and Arville Street, just before 10 p.m.
The house was full of debris and trash from squatters, a Fire Department spokesman said. Neighbors said it had been boarded up for more than a year.
No injuries were reported, but the fire did claim the life of one cat.
